However, the trio subsequently discovers that the ice wall is actually a dam that is barely holding a massive reservoir that could flood the valley to nearly a mile underwater if it fails.

Manny, Sid, and Diego are currently living in a large valley surrounded by an enormously high ice wall on all sides. Three more sequels were released: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in 2009, Ice Age: Continental Drift in 2012, and Ice Age: Collision Course in 2016. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, it grossed $660.9 million worldwide, marking it the third highest-grossing film of 2006 and the highest-grossing animated film of 2006. The film premiered in Belgium on March 1, 2006, and in the United States on March 31. In the film, Manny, Sid, and Diego attempt to escape an impending flood, during which Manny finds love. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Chris Wedge reprise their roles from the first Ice Age film, with newcomers Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, and Queen Latifah joining the cast.

The film was directed by Carlos Saldanha (in his feature directorial debut). It is the sequel to Ice Age (2002) and the second instalment in the Ice Age film series. You can actually get to enjoy it.Ice Age: The Meltdown is a 2006 American computer-animated adventure comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. But it's good enough to be playable, and that's excellent for this category of games. It wouldn't be hard to finish this game and watch the movie at the same time. The game lacks imagination, it's way too easy and you can finish it in just a few hours. The visuals are nice, and the voice actors deliver a nice performance. Even though it's pretty simple and soft, the game is not completely terrible. When you compare this title with most modern movie-based games, it doesn't end up too bad. And luckily for Ice Age 2: Meltdown, this ends one ends up being more on the good side of that list. Although back in the day this wasn't always the case, like Lion King or Aladdin games. Take Shrek The Videogame, for instance, horrible visuals and a complete mess of gameplay. These games made just to ride the wave of the movie tend to be a complete disaster. Even then, the game doesn't really spoil the whole movie, as you'll just get fragments of the storyline, but not the whole deal. This helps in making the game feel more like the movie. It's also great that the original voice actors from the movies are present to replay their roles as the characters in the game. You'll spend a lot of time playing as the squirrel we all know and love.

It's interesting to note that, even though it's not a main character in the movies, Scrap gets a lot of screen time here. Each character has a special set of abilities and minigames available to that character alone.
